February Favs!

1. Maybelline "The Buffs" lipstick in "Blushing Beige"- The PERFECT nude shade I've ever used. The pigment is perfect and the consistency is creamy, not cakey. Sold at any drugstore. 2. J Beverly Hills Platinum Revive Coconut Oil- I cannot blow dry/style my hair with out this. My hair gets so dry in the winter and this is perfect to keep my hair moisturized. Coconut oil is very nourishing for the hair. This serum keep the hair look polished and not dry. LOVE IT. Available only at Color Couture Salon. Stop in & purchase some. 3. L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray- The BEST drugstore hairspray out there. Used by many professional stylists for photo shoots. I like it because it has a strong hold but doesn't make the hair "crispy" or hard. Very flexible. Sold at any drugstore or Target. 4. Ardell Lashes in "Demi Wispies"- My all time favorite false lashes. I've tried just about every false lash out there and I noticed the wispies are the most natural looking lashes. They give lots of length & fullness without looking super fake. I use the DUO eye lash adhesive to apply these. Both products available at any drugstore or Sally's Beauty Supply. 5. MAC 187 foundation brush- I love this brush because it doesn't streak when applying my liquid foundation. I use this is a "buffing" kind of motion and apply more as needed to get a even coverage. Sold only at a MAC counter or MAC store.

Grind now, Shine later!

Monday's are for fitness! I'm off on Monday's so I dedicate my day to not only working out but also cleaning & catching up on my shows. I have a gym membership to WORLD GYM but never use it. The closest gym to me is 15 minutes away, so instead of spending majority of my morning in traveling... I just work out at home. I prefer to work out at home instead of the gym because there are no "wondering eyes". The downfall is Me & Brandon have a lot of work out equipment except for all the booty/ab machines that I like to use. I found ways to work out specific areas of my body (like the machines) in different ways with using what I already have at home (ball, weights, etc.) I found that YouTube is my best friend when it comes to finding great work out videos. If I'm not using the weight machine to do squats, I'm posted up in my living room watching YouTube videos on my AppleTV. I never work the same area two days in a row... I'm always switching it up. Today was AB DAY so I pulled up one of my favorite channels for work out's and did this 15 minute intense ab work out! This work out is great because it triggers every area of your ab's (upper, lower, obliques) Tomorrow I will not work out my ab's because they need a day to rest & heal. I would work out another area like my booty :) I have a busy work schedule so I try to work out as much as I can during the week. I usually try to do at least 3 times a week, focusing on different areas each day! It can get discouraging working out from home because you have to keep motivating your self to just get up and do it! I want to look the best I ever had this summer, so thinking about looking great in my new bikini's I ordered is helping me to stay motivated!

Tape Extensions: All you need to know...

I decided to make this post telling you all details about the damage-free tape extensions that I do. I've been getting more questions recently, so I decided to further educate you on what they exactly are.

Tape extensions are strips of clear adhesive that are taped to thin sections of your hair that are flexible and thin so they look natural and dont cause any bulk in the head (such as clip-ins, braided/sewn extensions) The flexibility of the tape means you can wear your hair down or pull it up in a high pony unlike other extensions. Tape extensions can be used to add length, volume and hilights. This application is damage-free and does not cause breakage or hair loss.

Here is some of the most frequently asked questions I've been getting:

HOW LONG DO EXTENSIONS LAST?8 TO 10 WEEKS VARYING ON THE CLIENT’S HAIR GROWTH. THIS ISRECOMMENDED TO ELIMINATE MATTING, FRIZZING AND TANGLING, ANDENSURE THE EXTENSION IS ALWAYS FRESH AND CLOSE TO THESCALP. THEY CAN BE REAPPLIED UP TO 3 TIMES (UP TP 6 MONTHS), THIS IS RECOMMENDEDSO THAT THE EXTENSION BOND REMAINS SEAMLESS.

CAN YOU COLOR IT?THERE ARE 20 COLORS THAN CAN BE BLENDED TO CREATE UP TO 400DIFFERENT SHADES, IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO BLEND TO CREATE YOURDESIRED SHADE YOU CAN DEPOSIT COLOR. YOU CAN NOT LIGHTEN. INTHE PROCESS OF APPLYING COLOR KEEP ALL COLOR AWAY FROM THEADHESIVE TAB AND WAIT ABOUT 48 HOURS FROM THE TIME YOU APPLYTHEM. DO NOT LIGHTEN THE EXTENSIONS OR HAIRWEAR.DO NOT TRY TO DARKEN THE COLOR MORE THAN 2 OR 3 LEVELS. IT ISRECOMMENDED THAT YOU GET YOUR COLOR DONE AFTER THE EXTENSIONAPPLICATION.

CAN ROOTS BE RETOUCHED WHILE THE EXTENSIONS ARE IN THE HAIR?YES ROOTS CAN BE RETOUCHED AGAIN KEEPING IN MIND TO STAYAWAY FROM THE TAPE TABS AND NOT TO WORK WITH PEROXIDE THAT ISGREATER THAN 40 VOLUME. ROOTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE 24 TO48 HOURS PRIOR TO APPLICATION AND THEN IN BETWEEN EXTENSIONSSERVICE WHEN THERE IS AMPLE GROWTH TO KEEP THE COLOR OFF OFTHE TAB.

CAN I REUSE THEM?YES, THE SUGGESTED RE-USE IS UP TO 3 TIMES (6 MONTHS). AFTER THAT YOU MAYCREATE BULK AT THE ATTACHMENT AREA AND NEW HAIR PURCHASE ISNECESSARY.

HOW MANY PACKS DOES IT TAKE TO DO A FULL HEAD?WE SUGGEST IT WILL TAKE 1 TO 2 PACKS DEPENDING ON YOUREXISTING HAIR DENSITY AND WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TOCREATE. MATCHING THICK, DENSE HAIR WILL TAKE MORE HAIR TOCREATE LENGTH (2 PACKS). CREATING LENGTH TAKES ABOUT 2 PACKSIF YOUR CUSTOMER HAS AVERAGE TO THICK HAIR. FINE HAIR CAN ADDLENGTH WITH ONE PACK. IF YOU ARE CREATING LENGTH IN BLUNTHAIRCUTS TEXTURIZING THE ENDS WILL HELP IN BLENDING THEEXTENSIONS AND EXISTING HAIR. CREATING VOLUME IS DEPENDING ONHOW MUCH THICKNESS YOU ARE TRYING TO ADD HOWEVERTYPICALLY VOLUME IS ACHIEVED IN UNDER A PACK IF YOU ARE NOTCREATING LENGTH. KEEP IN MIND NUMBER OF PACKS MAY ALSO VARYBASED UPON HOW MANY COLORS ARE IN YOUR EXISTING HAIRTHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO MATCH. THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ANDESTIMATED FOR THE INITIAL CONSULTATION.

HOW DO I WASH THEM?YOU WILL NEED TO USE A SULFATE-FREE SHAMPOO (I RECCOMEND PUREOLOGY)BRUSH YOUR HAIR FIRST TO REMOVE ALL TANGLES.BE CAREFUL WHEN SHAMPOOING AROUND THE TAPE, YOU DO NOT WANT TO "SCRUB" OR TANGLE THE HAIR AROUND THE ADHESIVE. lIGHTLY TAKE YOUR FINGERS INBETWEEN THE ROWS OF THE EXTENSIONS TO CLEASE YOUR SCALP. DO NOT PUT CONDITIONER DIRECTKY ON SCALP WHERE THE TAPE IS, JUST THROUGH THE ENDS.

******* The BIGGEST question I get asked daily is "How much does this cost?". To answer this question, I cannot quote ANYONE a price until you have set up a consultation appointment with me. Price depends on the color of extenions you want (blondes are more expensive than darker, natural colors), the desired length you want with the length & thickness of your hair now, and how many packs you will need to achieve desired look. I need to be able to phyiscally see your hair before being able to figure out what all you will need. *******

here are some before & after pictures of clients who I have done the tape extensions on:
